Boiled wool clothing for babies and children
Boiled wool is a high-quality textile material that is characterised by its special production and properties. It is made from wool from controlled organic animal husbandry and refined by a process called fulling. During fulling, the wool is treated with moisture, heat and friction, resulting in a dense, hard-wearing fabric. This ensures a comfortable wearing climate, as the fabric provides optimum protection in both cold and milder temperatures. Wool is breathable and naturally dirt-repellent.
The right care
When caring for boiled wool, care should be taken to wash it gently by hand or on special wool programmes in the washing machine in order to maintain the quality of the material. As wool is naturally dirt-repellent, it is often sufficient to simply air boiled wool clothing in the fresh air. Stubborn stains can be carefully treated with a damp cloth and mild wool detergent.
